Description

6 Cinema Classics from Comic Genius Peter Sellers! Enjoy some of Peter Seller’s finest screen moments! Collected together for the first time, this 6 DVD Set spans three decades of Sellers’ stellar career! The Collection: TRIAL AND ERROR(1962): A powerful comic drama featuring excellent performances from Sellers and Richard Attenborough who is accused of murdering his wife. THE GREAT MCGONAGALL(1974): The tale of an unemployed Scotsman, William McGonagall whose ambition was to become England's Poet Laureate. One minor drawback is that his poetry is terrible. THE MILLIONAIRESS(1960): When her father dies, Epifania Parerga, an Italian in London, becomes the world's richest woman. She feels incomplete without a husband and falls in love with a humble, Indian physician, Ahmed el Kabir, much loved by his indigent English patients. He eschews physical pleasure, so he rejects her overtures, which include sexual flirtation, offers of wealth, an opportunity to run a state-of-the-art clinic, and then her simple and direct declaration of love. They agree to a contest: she'll try the test of love his mother taught him (to live for 90 days with only 500 rupees), and she asks him to try her father's test: to turn £500 into £15,000 within 3 months. She's game; will he even try? BATTLE OF THE SEXES(1959): Man-eating businesswoman, Angela Barrows is sent by her US company to Edinburgh to investigate export opportunities. She meets businessman Robert MacPherson en route and he persuades her to help bring his company into the 20th century. The staff, lead by Mr. Martin, have other ideas and a battle between the old and new business methods breaks out. THE BLOCKHOUSE(1970): Sellers stars as one of a group of slave workers drafted by the Nazis to build coastal defences during WW2. They endure hellish conditions when trapped in an underground bunker after the allies land on D-Day. WHERE DOES IT HURT? (1972): In this classic hospital farce, Sellers plays Dr Albert Hopfnagel, a greddy, crooked hospital administrator who has perfected the art of bill-padding, unnecessary surgery and kickbacks. Sellers again steals the show with an absurd and hilarious character study. Special Features: * Trial & Error - Peter Sellers Profile * Great Mcgonagall - Audio Commentary By Director Joe Mcgrath And Comedy Historian Robert Ross * Battle Of The Sexes - Film Background, Biographies
