"Very good mech game"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This game has 2 storylines from opposing sides that tie well into each other. I recommend playing the beginner side first, party because it eases you into the game (although theres still good challenge) but also because it will make the 2nd story that much better when some of the story starts getting filled in.

You control a team of mech pilots, and can determine who goes on mission, how they improve their skills and what they outfit their mechs with. There is loads of options and customisation you can do.

This is one of the better games for adults who like strategy/rpg and want less “cute”.

"Good, but not for beginners..."
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This game is very good. It is a turn-based strategy game, that involves a lot of pre-battle management. This is what the series is all about. Fitting your “mech” right before each battle is of upmost importance. And yes, you will need to change each battle set-up before a new battle, as not every set-up will work for every battle. It is refreshing that this turn-based strategy title is not of a sword and sorcery tale, but one of giant mechanical fighting machines called “Wanzers”, or “walking panzers”. The story line is good, and pulls you in as you try to find your lost lover. This game is hard though. One level took me twelve goes to finally win, but the feeling of accomplishment is fantastic! Not for novices this one! 7.5/10

Description

The FRONT MISSION saga focuses on the conflict over Huffman Island, located in the neutral zone between two superpowers known as the Oceania Community Union (O.C.U.) and the Unified Continental States (U.C.S.). Tensions between the O.C.U. and the U.C.S. spark the First Huffman Conflict in 2070, a two-year war ending with a ceasefire agreement that divides the island into two territories. After many years of relative peace, the sudden destruction of a U.C.S. military factory triggers the Second Huffman Conflict in 2090. Experience the war from the perspective of Royd Clive, the leader of the O.C.U. mercenary outfit Canyon Crows, or Kevin Greenfield, the commanding officer of the U.C.S. Special Forces squad Black Hounds. Battle through missions against wanzers, tanks, attack helicopters, and giant mobile weapon platforms, and unravel the true motives behind the war over Huffman Island.
