Description

Eminent Boston Psychiatrist, Frasier Crane, last seen gracing the bars of Cheers has left his life there to start afresh in Seattle. He now has a spot as a popular radio Psychiatrist, giving him the chance to spread words of wit and wisdom to the masses. He shares his apartment with his retired cop father, Martin, and his father's physical care assistant, Daphne Moon. Add in brother Niles, Eddie the dog, some bizarre situations and plenty of humour and you've got all the ingredients for an excellent show and worthy successor to Cheers.

The Seventh Season starts off with Frasier helping to plan, and accidentally offering to pay for, Daphne’s wedding to Donnie, Niles' divorce attorney. The rest of the season consists of Daphne getting ready for her big day and Niles dreading it. In his haste to get over Daphne he even rushes into another marriage to an uptight woman – a plastic surgeon named Mel. But while Niles is off eloping, Daphne starts to re-evaluate her feelings for him, after a drug dazed Frasier spills the beans about Niles’ love for her. This is also the season that we are introduced to Daphne’s brother, Simon Moon, played by Anthony LaPaglia – who is hysterical as the drunkenly crude English brother. This is the role that earned LaPaglia three Emmy award nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series and one win. His character of course hits it off with Marty, his new beer buddy, but ruffles Frasier and Daphne’s feathers by being a slob and for teasing his sister. Another Emmy guest winner joins the cast this season as well, Jean Smart, who plays Lorna Lenley the short tempered prom queen from Frasier’s high school days. Smart won for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance.
