This series of fantasy novels is spectacular! I had heard of Drizzt Do'Urden (main character) through various PC role playing games and dungeons and dragons. Then a mate recommended i read this book (or first trilogy at least). Im so glad he did that because i love this series of books.

I finshed the 18th book in the series (The Pirate king) and am anxiously awaiting The Ghost King. I short, this series is highly addictive and you find your self growing attached to the characters in the story. I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in fantasy as it is very easy to read and get involded in.

Even 30 years on from it's original publication, the legend of Drizzt Do'Urden still holds up as a gripping tale of both treachery and loyalty which gives such rich background to the well known Drow Elves. Although a little slow in the early chapters, Homeland's in­fluence grew on me until I found myself turning page-after-page in the early hours of the morning!

I started with Homeland and I am glad I did, for me it was the best of the series and one of the most captivating, atmospheric books I've read!
