Jacques Greene returns with his first new material since his excellent 2017 debut album Feel Infinite – a record that caught the zeitgeist with numerous accolades and imitators.
Jacques Greene’s brand new EP Fever Focus – his best music to date – is actually split across two records.
The Fever Focus EP bursts with colour – from the Bonoboesque Nordschleife to the halcyon jack of Someone Else, everything here finds Greene combining his great ear for melody and rhythm with some of his most harmonically and texturally rich productions yet: a fusion of analogue and digital house and techno with an amped up melodic sensibility.
Lead single, Avatar Beach, sets dreamy vocal samples and propulsive tech house percussion against washes of euphoric trance.
After last year’s Feel Infinite, the Canadian producer expands and refines
his arsenal of club tools, folding touches of acid and ambient into tracks that
build on his melodic sensibilities.
Almost a decade since he released his first EP, he’s still finding new paths
to euphoria. - 7.7 Pitchfork
