"Beginning of the end"
5 stars"

This is an exellent game, Square Enix outdid them selves with this game. The CGI animations are amazing. This game is longer that you think. I bought this game and finished the game within a week, but when I played through the game again and and did all the missions (all 300 of them) it took me 2 MONTHS. Basically, this game just tells about how Cloud got into SODIER and how he got the Buster blade and answers some questions about Sephiroth and the Final Fantasy 7 saga. You play through the game with Zack from SODIER and fight your way to the end whilst getting materia, summons (including a new summon Bahamut Fury) and other items. I do recommend buying this game as it is long and takes a while to finish, and for the thrill of the game. Also buying it from Mighty Ape is by far the cheapest anywhere for a brand new one.

"Great game"

Great game for anyone into final fantasy, just be aware its not turn based like normal ff games. Still a great game with lovely cutscenes and a story a little more aimed towards the characters, as opposed to saving the world like the others.

this game is just so fun to play. its hard to keep track of time when you play. its alot like kingdom hearts in its gameplay style but has a story that is everything you'd expect from final fantasy

"Best game I ever bought"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This would have to be the greatest game of all-time, I loved every second of it. Im still playing it almost a year since I got it. The story is very well thought out and the game as a whole stays true to the Final Fantasy VII series. Zack is the most amazing minor character to ever be portrayed in an spinoff game and shows the incredible creative of the people invovled with the games development. I give this game 1000 out of 100!

"A welcome addition to the Final Fantasy VII Franchise"
4 stars"

When the game released back in 2007 I had it on Pre-Order. Released as part of the 10-year anniversary celebration the game certainly stands up to is predecessor Final Fantasy VII not only in graphical terms, but also storyline and battle.

Something that I spent hours experimenting with was the Materia Fusion tool. Boosting your levels so high that anything will fall at one blow of the legendary Buster Sword.

If there is one thing that I could fault this game on, it's the not being able to freely explore an open world – which I, and I'm sure other fans enjoy.

Despite being a prequel to quiet possibly one of the greatest final fantasy games of all time, the game works stand-alone – as my brother who has never played the original played and finished Crisis Core.

"Good for die hard fans, wouldn't suggest to the casual gamer."

You'd pretty much play this game for the story, the combat can be very button-mashy. And the leveling up system based purely on luck wont please the hardcore RPG fan.

"Proper prequel"

this game is different from the turn based system but it is really easy to use. CG scenes are really amazing even though its on the PSP, the characters look and sound good.

"Great story, great presentation"
5 stars"

This game is one of the most engrossing and one of the most beautiful games you'll see on the PSP. I was initially a bit put off by the fighting system (quite similar to the semi real time and semi turn based combat seen in Starwars Kotor series) but it soon became second nature. The range of powers, attacks and weapons means that combat is always fun. And did I mention the awesome boss fights. Don't want to give any spoilers here, but suffice to say Sepheroth will be a main character.

Summary:

Good: plot, graphics (beautiful and realistic animation), huge range of spells, attacks, weapons (materia) and beautiful cut scenes.

Bad: if you hate cosplay :P

"Brilliant gameplay "
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I admit, I am also a Final Fantasy VII fan, and this is definitely a worthy prequel to the series. The gameplay is excellent, if not a little difficult to understand at first and the Sephiroth/ Genesis/ Angeal scene just leaves you staring at your PSP screen going …‘wow’, not to mention the ‘omg’, it's Cloud and Aeris' moments. This is a must for every FFVII fan. The only thing is… BEFORE the last FMV scene, It was… sad.

Another awesome game in the final fantasy series. Was great to see the ff7 world from another point of view. The only downside is the combat system, other than that a really good game.

"A great prequal to Final Fantasy VII"
4 stars"

Ok I loved the storyline it explains what happened before the amazing events of Final Fantasy VII, a fun battle system with an annoying voice eveytime you go into & out of battle, the leveling system really got on my nerves as you never knew when you would level up, I mean don't get me wrong I loved this game, heaps of gameplay hours, plenty of side quests to really rack those gameplay hours up, a must have for a Final Fantasy VII fan

"Gripping story, Ah-MAZING!"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

It's been along time coming for Square Enix to produce another gripping game that leaves you with little choice but to be on the edge of your seat through its entirety. Wtih an amazing storyline and breath taking graphics, Crisis Core gives you Zack Fair and the other side of Final Fantasy VII. Within a short amount of time, they are able to give the player a connection with the game's main protagonist through his struggles and hardship, although this is somewhat lacking with some of the other characters (leaving you thinking that they could have done without some). The actual gameplay itself could have been better, as it felt like you were being spoonfed on where to go next, with no choice to revisit certain areas. Overall, the music is fantastic (“Why” by Ayaka fitted the story very well), sharp graphics for a small console, storyline well thought out and brilliant execution on building the suspense of what all Final Fantasy VII fans know of the fate that awaits the hero. Definitely a buy.

Just dived in as soon as I received this. Cool storyline and the new battle system seemed really fresh. But was a little surprised at the short storyline. Anyways its a must have item for ff7 diehards!
