"Tactical fantasy comes alive "
4 stars"

FF Tactics WoTL can be considered is an exciting mix between the Final Fantasy universe and Tactical strategy gameplay with more than an ounce of slick presentation.

As with all things Square Enix this game is polished to the extreme. All facets of gameplay and presentation are exemplary. The plot focuses around the land of invalice and the turmoil surrounding it as invasion, war and class conflict rage amongst its populous.

The story may be engaging but the gameplay, while superb demands a step learning curve. Players who persevere will be rewarded with a rich tactical experience; with almost limitless customisation through character development and strategy.

Presentation as mentioned is flawless. Cell shaded cutscenes throughout add a real sense of cinematic appeal to the gameplay. Voice acting in these cutscenes is also excellent.

Those who are fans of the FF universe and tactical strategy will wnjoy this game.

Purchased on Mighty Ape

Final fantasy tactics is one of the best games i have bought for psp but it does have some flaws. it takes a while getting used to how the game works if you haven't played the original but once you do you are inthralled in a game of suspsense, drama, action and excitement. the movies on it are fantastic and really add to the game as well as the hours of gameplay. if you are a final fantasy fan then you should definitely get it and if you aren't well…get it any way!

Description

Sustained by Lord and Light, the twin-headed lion reigns over the kingdom of Ivalice.

A year has passed since the loss of the Fifty Years’ War. The prince, though but two years of age, has ascended the throne, his father having been claimed by sudden malady. Too young to rule, the prince requires a regent, who would be king in all but name. The queen's brother, Duke Larg, had seemed the obvious choice for the regency. However, fearing the influence such an appointment would give the queen, the Council refused to back him. Instead, they appointed the king's younger cousin, Duke Goltanna, as regent.

Duke Goltanna and Duke Larg were both generals who had distinguished themselves during the Fifty Years' War. Duke Goltanna counts as ally the greater part of the aristocracy loyal to the Crown. However, the fallen nobility and free knights left in the aftermath of the Fifty Years' War have aligned themselves with Duke Larg. With Duke Goltanna under the banner of the Black Lion, and Duke Larg under that of the White, the stage is set for what history would one day record as the War of the Lions.
