THRILLA IN MANILLA :-
Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier were inextricably linked as the two greatest heavyweights of their generation. Their rivalry reached its climax in 1975 when, with one win each, they met for the third time in the epic struggle that Ali labelled the 'Thriller In Manila'. A relentless, brutal battle that Ali later described as a near-death experience was brought to a close by Eddie Futch, the trainer of Frazier, at the end of the 14th round. "Sit down, son, it's over", he said. It remains one of the most stirring fights in the history of this strange, compelling sport.
RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE :-
On 30 October 1974 in the incredible setting of Kinshasa, Zaire, the historic event that became known as The 'Rumble In The Jungle' unfolded to a disbelieving audience in the Twentieth of May Stadium and on closed circuit screens around the world. This was the night Muhammad Ali cemented his legend as The Greatest with a sensational eighth round knockout of the supposedly invincible world heavyweight champion, George Foreman. Watch a sporting miracle unfold as Ali plays Rope-A-Dope with Foreman and then pulls off the most amazing triumph of his long career.
