Far Cry 2 Collector's Edition reviews

Far Cry 2 is certainly like no other shooter. It is an experience which succeeds in every way. The story, Graphics, and Gameplay are all simply phenomenal.

Graphics are an important feature of Far Cry 2. Not only does the game look wonderful, but the character and animal models are very realistic, too. This is one of the best looking games I have ever played.

Based in Africa, FC2 has a great storyline, and good sound effects and music to match. With the release of expansion packs via Xbox Live, this is a game you will be playing for months to come.

The game is ok.

Far Cry 2 has the biggest map I have seen in a video game ever. It ranges from jungles to deserts to cities and you can go just about anywhere within the square of the in-game map.

The realism of this first person experience is amazing, every detail has been explored, trees wave in the wind and can be set alight, burning to a crisp and remaining as blackened skeletons. The sun rises and sets casting shadows from trees, rocks and hills. The water and boats also act realistically, all adding to the immersion of the game. Not for the faint of heart, your character will heal himself by removing bullets from an arm or leg using pliers, sound effects included.

The AI is good, enemies will try and flank you, and use anything at their disposal including weapons left on the ground and abandoned vehicles.

Overall an enjoable game, the story is slightly uncompelling, but the gameplay is fun.

The game is absolutely incredible. I have spent hours just roaming around, never mind dashing from place to place slaughtering the local warlords troops. It is open world, with a great selection of weapons, vehicles, night/day cycle, weather effects… even herds of animals wandering around the African plane. This is definitely worth the price, considering what you get.
