Somewhere over the Antarctic, a plane is flying a Marines Special Forces Recon Unit to Fort Stuart, a top-secret government research facility.

The facility has been conducting biological research on a mysterious alien life form, codenamed ORIGIN. It appears that ORIGIN has become out of control. The Marines are responding to a distress call sent out by the research team. Their mission- to exterminate the threat in Fort Stuart.

Suddenly, one of the planes' engines inexplicably bursts into flame. The plane crash-lands, separating the members of the Recon Unit around Fort Stuart. Luckily they all survive.

But Fort Stuart is host to a dark and dangerous secret..who knows how long they will manage to stay alive?

The epic storyline of Extermination and well-drawn characters bring the player into the game, creating the experience of real fear, anxiety and apprehension.

Extermination was developed by Deep Space at Sony Computer Entertainment Incorporated. Deep Space have devised an extremely intuitive control system to ensure lightening-fast reaction times during intense action sequences.

Set in a vast 3D world with cinematic and free-roaming cameras, Extermination sets the benchmark for future releases of this genre on PlayStation 2.
