Description

Written as a futuristic novel about the final stages of global warming (C2040), this book, extensively researched, challenges our whole way of life. If earth scientist, James Lovelock, is correct, we will lose five sixths of the population of this planet by the end of the century. There will certainly be some losses. Can we now take that giant step forward that will guarantee our future? The financial failure predicted for 2040 has already happened; governments thrash around trying to repair the system, so, it will happen all over again. The next crash will come more quickly because the banks know governments can't afford to let them go. Currency was invented as a means of exchange; it has become a commodity; it has failed; it should now be replaced. In this book, a new non currency means of exchange and trading is proposed. It is one under which everyone becomes equal for the first time in the history of humankind; no more inflation, banks, stock markets or insurance and pension companies; no social welfare, subsidies or other state benefits. And no more Ponzis! Crime would be reduced to five per cent of current levels; drug dealers and human traffickers wiped out. There would be much redeployment but no unemployment as everyone would be guaranteed a fixed income for life. A completely apolitical system it would have the power to stop wars and conflicts of all kinds.
