My favourite Agatha Christie film. It has an interesting plot, full of colourful characters (played by a host of famous names from the past), but, of course, the real star of the show is the gorgeous, sun-baked setting. The movie was shot on an island in Majorca, and viewed in high definition on a big-screen TV, the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean – and even the bleached greys and browns of the earth and the rich green of the trees – have never looked warmer and more inviting, or so magnificent. For someone with a huge nostalgic bent, it was the perfect way to spend a summer holiday evening…
