Seeing as this chair had heaps of good reviews, I decided to get one as my current WFH is on the dining table and the dining chairs are way too low; which results in sore and painful shoulder and neck muscles. Cons:
- hard to set up, instructions not very clear, took a while to figure out.
Screws are not easy to insert into the rod as the rod keeps turning with your L-key. You need 2 L-keys – one to stabilise the other side in place and the other one to screw into the rod. The chair only coes with 1 L-key. And I would suggest you sort your screws and line them up by height because it's easy to mix up and use the wrong ones. Once the screw goes into the rod it's super difficult to undo. I think the 4th or 5th illustration on the instructions was the best one to figure out which part goes where.
- upholstery fabric kinda rough
Gets rough and uncomfortable against bare legs and it's not exactly the best fabric cover. You can feel it if you re wearing thing summer pants/skirts.
- adjusting height doesn't mean the angle of the chair stays the same
So if you want it taller, the seat becomes more vertical to the point where you're kinda sliding off. If you make it lower there's not enough room for your knees… Which defeated the purpose of me trying to fix the height problem with my set up. Too low, can't see; too tall, sliding off. I don't think this chair is designed the best ergonomically. Pros:
- good to change up my positing from sitting on a regular chair during the day.
- cheap enough to try out without too much of a loss
That's it lol.
I didn't even bother installing the wheels on this chair as it's useless on our carpet, which has a longer pile. I've sat in an ergonomical knee chair before (like a regular computer chair with a back, but also has the knee rests on the side, seriously why doesn't NZ sell these at all?!) which 5–10 mins in was way more comfortable than this chair. I don't think this chair promotes a straight back, I still have to consciously remind myself to straighten up as opposed to another chair I've tried sitting in which naturally promotes it. I can't recommend this chair based off my experience, but your experience may be different.
