Description

Weather plays a key role in most building and design projects. Whether in Minnesota or Florida, the way a building and its interior is designed and built depends upon the weather. When an engineering firm in Chicago has a project in Houston, various weather data specific to Houston are needed such as heat loss or the average ambient air temperature. This data affects what type of material is used, in which direction the building is constructed, what type of HVAC system is used. The temperature outside can heat up the building exterior, which affects the HVAC system. Typically, this data is needed maybe two or three times a year, but when it is, an engineer will have to search through various publications, dig through handbooks for one specific piece, and spend hours in the firm's library, collecting the data. This book compiles all the data into one handy resource.
