Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Limited Collector's Edition previews

I have been playing the beta now for just less than a week. My overall impressions are pretty good. Bah to the graphics , its all about classes with this game ,and so many things you can do with each class. This makes a refreshing change from Battlefield 2142 , which I got very bored with quickly. If I pick the Spec ops class I can spend the whole game constructing different artillery pieces and homing my laser beacon on unsuspecting mechs and combat vechiles. Sniper class is a real buzz as you actually can get one shot head kills , the best thing about sniper is you can clone dead enemies and then join the opposition without them knowing who you are. You then proceed to stab people in the back with your knife. I could type forever about all the varities that each class can achieve , and yes it does take some time playing the class to get an idea on what can be done eg: The strogg flying drone where you fly this drone around and watch everyone , when you get close to the enemy you right click and boom ,you blow them up -priceless. There is only one airship atm ,and its kinda hard to fly ,but no one seems to care as everyone is having soo much fun working out what class they want to play. Sure there needs some tweaks , but its still a beta. Now back to the battle ,might go engineer class this time and place some motion mines and watch people run around the corner and then -boom.

Great fun, but unfortunately playing second fiddle to TF2 at the moment. Thoroughly recommend both if you want some good multiplayer fun.

I've just played the demo and can now say that this is an excellent game. I'm just worried that it won't be able to stand up to Team Fortress 2 which looks, dare I say it, even better.

Hate to dissapoint but have just been playing the Beta version, i cant say the game was bad due to it being a Beta test, however i saw nothing new in terms of unique gameplay, graphics were unimpressive, nice but not what i was expecting given that this new game was supposed to have a whole new game engine called Megatexture in fact i got bored with it after 3 rounds, it wasnt just me either there were a number of people complaing of the same, i have been playing BF2142 for so long i was hopeing to move on to this, sadly i wont be, unless the actual demo is a vast improvement. Also driving and flying was painful controls felt very stiff and unrealistic, Bf2142 has its problems but on a whole i rate that as a far better FPS at this stage, like i said its a Beta i played, not the demo, this is just my opinion but hope to be proved wrong when the game is released.

I've played the demo and thought it was pretty average. I don't quite know how to explain it, it's like the game was too…arcadey? I'm not sure if that makes sense?! I think I'll stick to Battlefield 2 for my team based fps, and GRAW 1&2 for my tactical single player fps

This game is very similar to BF2. However it rewards team work a lot more. You get tangible rewards as well as are more likely to win the map. However the below poster was right when he said that kills were as satisfying. It is nothing like the awesome CHUNK'D kills etc from the rest of the Quake series. In fact most of the time you just knock people out cold who can either respawn or wait for a medic. As for the jumping around like crazy thing, thats called lag, and is easily fixed with a broadband connection :P As for me I thought it was great. I miss CHUNKing people, but you can be sneeky, strategic, helpful, ownful or whatever you want. And thanks to the different classes AND rewards it makes for a great play as well as making your favourite play style even better. Watch for Psyklone railing or stroybombing you!

My advice is definitely play the demo before you buy this, because it is very different from other FPS around. I personally hated the gameplay as it was impersonal combat with no real satisfaction from getting a kill or even completing one of the ‘missions’. It is far too ‘twitchy’ for me and the bunny-hopping is just plain stupid. How can you take a game seriously where players are jumping around like hyperactive rabbits? You can't. So I'm not buying this, and the demo is already uninstalled from my PC.

Its been a long wait for this game, but one of the few that has been and will be well worth it, from the minds that put together RTCW, and Wolf:ET my two favourite FPS shooters, I can only expect to be blown away by the fun Multiplayer action they seem to capture. Can't freaking Wait!

This will replace the origional Enemy Territory multiplayer game, and i can't wait. The original game was awesome, but this is going to be out-standing. Its totally rebuilt. This will be one of the best games we will see for a long time.

From what ive seen from the mini movies it look awesome, and it's a lot like wolfenstein enemy territroy BUT better.You get cars and tanks and jets etc to drive and fly around. i rate this game 5/5
