Liz Applegate, Ph.D., is the author of several books on nutrition and exercise. She writes a monthly column for "Runner's World" magazine and also serves as its nutrition editor and adviser. Dr. Applegate is on the board of directors of the American Council on Exercise and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Dietetic Association. She lives in Davis, California.
