Aimed at the needleworker who has nothing more than the basic skills, this book suggests simple techniques for use alongside a commercial pattern, to create jackets with the appearance and finish of professionally tailored garments. Tips and techniques include pressing while sewing, using fusible interfacings for shaping jackets, setting in professional-looking sleeves with bias strips, making perfect patch pockets, inserting a lining by machine, sewing easy sleeve vents, and invisible hems that keep their shape.
