Description

Elvira has been aging rapidly, and suddenly sprouts wings, right before the very ill Seraphim finally passes away. He leaves Elvira a floppy disk containing valuable information about the mysterious Black Cancer, but instead of passing it along to the angelic hierarchy, Elvira blames them for Seraphim's death in exile, and refuses to share the data. Up in Valhalla, Chihaya and Kagetsuya's partnership is undone by the higher-ups because they are being suspected of being a bit too close for comfort, and Kagetsuya is paired up with a newbie, Sayaka. Sayaka is a nice boy but the opposite of Chihaya. The new pair is sent down to Earth to retrieve Elvira and the floppy, while Chihaya takes a little vacation to Tokyo to visit Taki. As usual, Taki's life is very messy as the professor keeps popping up and telling him to kill a human, or least kill him so that Taki can become fully human. The little girl he's still going out with (Number 71) is actually named Miyuki, and falls into a trap of "being reunited with her real mother" but ends up staying with Taki anyway. Sayaka is having a tough time as Kagetsuya's new partner because everyone keeps saying how much better Chihaya was then him. Coincidently, Chihaya comes back to Valhalla to reclaim Kagetsuya and has an all out argument/brawl with Sayaka (actually being demanding, for the first time in his life). Kagetsuya tries to intervene when Sayaka initiates an illegal duel and the three of them get tossed into the isolation chamber to think out their sins. A lot of arguing ensues about whose fault it was, but in the end they come to an agreement that they are all at fault, and Sayaka transfers to another department when they get out, vowing to prove himself a partner worthy of Kagetsuya. The next issue on the agenda is the problem of how angels are having trouble making babies, and Aya offers nonchalantly to bear Chihaya/Miyagi/Kagetsuya's kids! Next, Chihaya and Kagetsuya are ordered to take a vacation where they spend their days in the sweltering rain forest, and what do you know, Kagetsuya is in the midst of his mating season, thus he is slowly but surely realizing his feelings for Chihaya...
