Description

This lively, evocative book uncovers the rich history of the former gold, silver, copper and leading mining communities that once existed in the Southern Tablelands, Braidwood, Shoalhaven, Monaro and south-west slopes districts of New South Wales. Author Biography:

Barry McGowan is a historian, a heritage consultant, and a visiting fellow at the School of Archaeology and Anthropology at Australian National University in Canberra. He is the author of Australian Ghost Towns and Fool's Gold: Myths and Legends of Gold Seeking in Australia.
