Dragonsong (1976) is the 3rd novel written in the Dragonriders of Pern series. In chronological order it is one of the books set during the Ninth Pass, about 2500 years after landing. It is the first book in Anne McCaffrey's best-selling Harper Hall Trilogy (a story arc in Dragonriders of Pern series).

Every two hundred years or so, shimmering Threads fall from space, raining death and black ruin on Pern.
