"Does the Daleks a dis-service..."
4 stars"

In the modern series, the Daleks are mean, deadly and scary. I will admit to not watching much of the classic series until the new one came out in 2005, that being so, the Daleks in this episode are quite weak and useless by comparison.

Two bright spots: As always, the Doctor is great, and Ace gets her first full story as the sole companion. Added to those two things is some clever scripting, and I dare you not to go “Hey, that's the butler from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air!” (in a very different role and accent, mind you.)

Assuming you have knowledge of earlier serials – it's better than average.
