OK, this will probably never enthrall fans who have only ever seen the modern series. But for those of us into the classics too, it's one of the First Doctor's better stories. There were meaningful parts for the Doctor, Ian and Barbara, and the overall storyline was quite enjoyable. It tends to be a little ponderous on occasion, but considering that this was only the 6th serial of the show ever made, I happily forgive it.
I went in with no particular expectations, and came out pleased. Contrasting human attitudes regarding the desire to right what is wrong, and the perspective that history cannot (and should not) be changed worked for me; it engages the viewer well. Not bad for 1963…
Certainly worth a watch.
