Well… Alice in Chains isn't something I'd really listen to; but having heard so much about this group and album in recent years – I thought I'd give it a go. While I wasn't overly impressed with it – I wasn't really dissapointed either (That's why I gave it a “sitting on the fence” score of 3 stars) Having played it I quickly discovered that this lp is designed for play at 45 rpm (some may disagree), I also thought that this was reminiscent of Grunge style of music (Only other reference to Grunge I had was Nirvana) Still… I thought that songs like “Them Bones”, “Down in a hole”, “Angry Chair” and “Would” – were toe-tappers – but not a great album overall (I thought)… On the other hand – I'm glad I own this album (as it's basically introducing me to Grunge/Heavy Rock/Metal… As I don't have ANY Nirvana whatsoever) However in saying all that…I hope that this review doesn't dissuade anyone one from buying this lp – I mean it's certainly worth a listen!!
