"Dimensional Man" presents the human antomy in the form of a life size pop-up figure which is easy to assemble and designed to ensure secure mounting to the wall. Half muscular, half skeletal, it shows the locomotor, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive and urogenital systems. By lifting the pectoral muscles and the gut you can see inside the thorax and abdomen respectively. The names of individual bones, muscles and organs are detailed in a numerical index on the background against which the figure stands. The author has collaborated with Jonathan Miller on "The Facts of Life" and "The Human Body".

Author Biography

David Pelham made his name as Art Director of Harper's Bazaar and Penguin Books. He has won many awards, including the Gold Awards from both the Designers and Art Directors Association of London and the Art Directors' Club of New York. Working on both sides of the Atlantic, he is the creator of numerous dimensional books and is a talented paper engineer. His award-winning international best-seller, The Penguin Book of Kites, was published in nine foreign language editions and is still in print. His titles for Jonathan Cape include Say Cheese!, Skeleton in the Cupboard, The Human Body (written by Jonathan Miller) and Sam's Sandwich. He lives in London and has three children.
