I first watched this when I was 7 in 1999 and absolutely loved it. People have always compared Digimon to Pokemon but they are quite different. However, when it comes down to it I prefer Digimon.

It has taken years but they are finally releasing the original Digimon on DVD. If you are a fan it is well worth buying. They are the original English dubs digitally remastered. This volume contains the first 27 with the next 27 being released in November or December. I cannot wait.

My only criticism is that there are no extras. It is just a menu with the option to play all or select a particular episode. That being said I love Digimon and thoroughly enjoyed being able to relive my childhood.

Yes – it's a little cheesy in places, dramatic charging towards the enemy in one shot revealed to be slow bouncing in the next, but that's part of the charm of these stories, which is really about the eventual friendship between the characters.
