Mole thinks the diamond he's found is magic. It appeared from nowhere, then it disappeared altogether. Mole is very disappointed when his friends let him in on the icy secret - that his diamond is, in fact, an icicle - until he discovers that magic can be found in all sorts of unexpected places.

Jonathan Emmett worked as an architect for some time, designing a variety of projects, including an art gallery and a theatre. Now a full-time writer, his books include Bringing Down the Moon and No Place Like Home. He lives in Nottingham. Vanessa Cabban studied illustration at Brighton University and the Royal College of Art. She has illustrated several picture books, including the bestselling Dear Tooth Fairy and Dear Father Christmas by Alan Durant. She lives in Northumberland.
