It has influences from Europe, particularly France, Italy and Spain. The dishes are also influenced by traditional ingredients and cooking methods from the native culture, and from Africa. Each Venezuelan region has its own version of many recipes. As a rule, the most commonly served dishes, and ones I'll cover here, include corn, seafood, plantains and coconuts, among other ingredients. As you near the coastline of Venezuela, there are more dishes like fish stews and soups. Coconut is also used in coastal dishes.
