Stanley's life was ideal up until two years ago - or so he thought. He had married his high school sweetheart and their future seemed bright together. Then, out of the blue, she tells him that she has fallen in love with another man and she wants a divorce. Stanley is crushed. He becomes incensed and decides to kill her new suitor, but he is smart enough to realize that he must be clever and not get caught. He decides to befriend the new boyfriend, David, in a show of conciliation. His wife likes the idea and thinks that it exhibits class. David thinks that it is very civil.
