Buying the DAS “Ultimate” keyboard (with blank keys) was a gamble. I'd seen them before and thought it would be a cool talking point, with the bonus of perhaps nobody else being able to use my keyboard! Using it has been awesome. The first thing you note is that the old habit of looking at your keyboard while typing is no longer relevant. Second thing you discover is that you DID subconsciously know where all the keys are. Finally, you are pleasantly surprised that your typing speed actually increases with the tendency to look at your keyboard now removed! Overall: Just Awesome!

I had wanted a blank keyboard since I first saw the idea in 2005 or so. But it wasn't until I pressed my fingers on a sample mechnical keyboard only late last year that I had a need for a mechanical keyboard.

I knew this would be a sturdy model so I got it. This one is the clicky blue MX switches. It's much nosier than a normal keyboard but it's not ridiculous. The blank keys are a mixed bag. I had somewhat intended to replace them at some stage anyway but they are fine if you know your keyboard, but sometimes I'm a bit less certain with the (*& keys you know.

Anyway it's excellent to type on and pulls me up on my sloppy typing. Going back to my old keyboard is horrible. Not looking forward to going back to work and typing on those ones.

Would give it 5 stars but it IS pricey, for a keyboard.
