"Great Style, Excellent response and very well built!"

This keyboard really is das keyboard to have!

I had a few concerns initially with modern brand name keyboards with the spacing of the keys. It seemed as if every board was designed for small hands. The keys on the daskeyboard are well spaced, sized and a pleasure to type on!

It's key design is semi-retro and does not tightly group keys together like a mechanical keyboard pretending to be a conventional office keyboard, which is a massive plus for my massive hands.

It's built like a tank and people aren't joking when they say it's going to last. It may be $250 dollars, but I can guarantee you that it will last twice as long as your high end brand equivalent from China. You get what you pay for!

I'm not going to let this impact my review, because its not exactly a fault. But the keyboard is most certainly not quiet. Lets not kid ourselves here. If you are buying a mechanical keyboard you're not really buying it for the silence, are you- Regardless of the colour of switch, they are all much louder than a conventional keyboard.

If you are light on the keys, you can mitigate some of the sound from bottoming out the key, but it's still twice as loud as a regular keyboard. The blue switches make an audible click before bottoming out, which makes them three times louder than the red and brown…If not more! I highly recommend researching the different Cherry MX keys and typing on each before deciding on which daskeyboard to buy.

If you don't want to drive the flatmate in the next room over at night…Buy a 20 dollar Microsoft keyboard and upgrade to this magical machine later when you have your own space.

Bottom line: If you want a well built, well laid out and designed, stylish keyboard that will last you 10 years or more with a great key response, buy a daskeyboard. Get it on special and you've practically stolen it.

Das End.

"Great first introduction to the world of mechanical keyboards"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

After reading a bunch of reviews, I settled on the Cherry MX Brown switches that are in the Das Silent keyboard.

After receiving the keyboard it definitely takes a few days to get used to but I can say that key-presses are far more consistent on the Das compared to my old rubber-dome keyboards. It's also built extremely well and feels very solid.

After a week or so using this keyboard, I feel that it's more fun to use (if you can even call typing fun). It's a more enjoyable experience doing a lot of writing on the Das compared to any other standard keyboard.

If you're a typist and concerned about noise then the silent model is the one to get. However, be warned that once you try a mechanical keyboard you won't want to go back. Most likely you'll also be tempted to increase your keyboard collection in the future to try the different switches.

"Awesome"
5 stars"

Brought the Model S Ultimate Keyboard a few months ago.

Was a little worried about having no “letters” on the keys, but as being able to touch type from school it has proven its worth.

This keyboard has made my typing skills more GOSU

Great feel when pressing keys and good clicky noise that can annoying everyone in the flat if your typing away or playing some SC2. Good retro looking keyboard.

Only concern is playing FPS, should maybe get the the coloured key set so the WASD keys are easier to find, but this has only been a complaint from friends using the das keyboard.

Does someone know where to get the WASD kit (with the key remover) aside from Aussie-

If you can touch type try find the Model S Ultimate Keyboard

But the professional is the one if you cannot touch type and want something other than “razor” keyboards.
