While the artwork is beautiful in this comic, I feel the story lacks the depth I've come to expect from the Dark Souls universe, though that may be an unfair comparison given the time each platform has to tell it's story. The Shakespearean dialogue won't be to everyone's taste either, after reading the first two chapters you find yourself looking past it, but I feel it's unnecessarily clumsy in the context of a graphic novel. Overall a fairly good read, I found myself getting more engaged toward the end so it may be a case of the writers getting into their creative groove and producing a more polished product, enough so that i'd be compelled to check out the next volume. Certainly not a waste of your time if you've played the games too.
