High-Performance Ethernet Adapter for PCI Bus:
D-Link's DE-528CT Ethernet adapter is a high-performance network card for personal computers equipped with PCI expansion buses. Designed especially for Pentium and Pentium II machines, this adapter provides the performance that turns today's desktops into powerful workstations and servers. With its low cost of ownership and standard compliance, this adapter is the perfect choice for cost-effective workgroup networking.
High-speed Network Throughput:
Using 32-bit high-throughput data transfer with the host, the adapter provides robust performance in very heavy traffic environments, and is mandatory for applications with large file transfer and heavy disk I/O in the server.
With the full-duplex function, the adapter allows PC to connect to a switch and become a power workstation or server, receiving and transmitting data at the same time on a dedicated 20mbps bandwidth.
Network administrators can install optional boot ROM's on the adapters to implement network security. Diskless workstations equipped with these ROM's can remote boot from NetWare, Windows NT or LAN Manager servers and access authorized data.
Complying to the PCI local bus specifications, this adapter provides hassle-free installation for PCs equipped with PCI expansion I/O slots. All users have to do is drop the card into a PCI slot. During bootup, the system examines all installed interfaces and assigns conflict-free resources for the adapter.
Multiple Media Support:
For 10BASE-T, the adapter supports both UTP and STP types of cabling. It also provides an additional BNC for connection to a thin coaxial cable. The card auto-detects the connected media type.
Extensive Driver Support:
The adapter provides drivers all major network operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 95, Windows NT, Novell NetWare, SCO Unix and others.
