Courtney has it all on her father's ranch but she wants more out of life than just lazing around. Seeking a life of service, she looks into the prospect of heading further west until her mother intervenes. Discovering that the son of a politically connected rich man is coming into town, her mother plans a ball and sets Courtney up with the eligible bachelor. But a humble rancher from down the road named Hunter has eyes for Courtney. She begins to realize she has feelings for him as well and the two begin a flirtation...But Hunter doesn't feel as if he is good enough for the well-to-do Courtney. Neither do her parents.
