"Inspiring"
5 stars"

Carl Sagan's enthusiasm and optimism about our future in space is highly infectious. I remember watching parts of the series when I was younger and enjoying it. I recently found it in my Dad's collection and just had to watch it again, and it was even more beautiful than I remember it, because I was able to understand so much more.

He puts it in terms that anyone can understand, and more importantly, he puts it in terms that everyone can get excited by. Hearing him talk so enthusiastically about the cosmos is truly inspiring. I hope humanity reaches the potential he saw in us. He was a truly great man, and I'll always remember him. May he rest in peace.

"Breathtaking in its scope and vision"
5 stars"

Cosmos is an outstanding work, well ahead of its time, Carl Sagan suggests that we should always face the truth no matter how uncomfortable it may be to us.

Cosmos means more than space, but the whole entity of the universe including living and non living things.

This series was originally filmed about 1980 and the transfer to DVD is adequate. Carl has made updates when necessary, at the end of each episode, a decade later, if/when further knowledge has been discovered. However these are minor and infrequent corrections.

"How do I gives this seven stars?"

Cosmos takes a vast range of scientific topics and explains them in a simple down-to-earth way. The presenter, Carl Sagan, is particularly gifted in simplifying the subject without dumbing it down and at no time is there a feeling of being talked down to. The subject matter is amazing and is suitable for children. In fact, I can see this inspiring some Children to take a further look at science. The only problem with this set is that it was made a few decades back, so it excludes some of the more recent advances. That being said, none of the concepts covered in Cosmos have changed so there is nothing “wrong”.
