Author Biography:

Willi A. Kalender is chairman of the Institute of Medical Physics at the University of Erlangen, visiting professor at the University of Wisconsin and at Stanford University. He has been awarded a number of prizes, e.g. the William D. Coolidge Award (2009). 2016 he was elected as a Member of the USA's National Academy of Engineering.
