Author Biography
Redwood Kardon is a former building inspector for Oakland, CA., and is the leading professional lecturer nationwide on building codes. He also owns and maintains codecheck.com, a website devoted to promoting the Code Check manual. Coauthors Douglas Hansen and Michael Casey have 25 and 18 years of field experience, respectively. All three authors teach seminars for inspectors around the country, using the Code Check series as their primary material. Paddy Morrissey was the senior illustrator for CornerHardware.com and has been the sole illustrator for the Code Check series. Michael Casey was born in 1947 in Lowell, Massachusetts. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served as a military policeman in Vietnam. Among his books of poems are MILLRAT (Adastra Press, 1999), The Million Dollar Hole (Orchises, 2001), and Obscenities, which was chosen by Stanley Kunitz as the Yale Younger Poet Award for 1972 and reprinted by Carnegie Mellon University Press in 2002. His most recent book is CHECK POINTS (Adastra Press, 2011). Douglas Hansen lives in Palo Alto, CA.
