Description

Near-death adventures are part of the thrill of traveling - arent they? Maybe thrill isnt quite the word, but theyre there whether you like them or not. This collection of near-death (and a few almost-near-death) stories take you on adventures in Africa, South America, Nepal, Japan and Thailand. Close Encounters with an angry snake, the edge of an abyss, an unfriendly African tribe, a fake guide or two, a mean Dutch man, a nasty case of Typhoid and a severe case of mountain stupidity are told with the confidence of a traveler who has discovered that "no matter what happens, something always turns up."

Author Biography:

Amanda Jayne is a teacher, heart circle coach and a holistic health practitioner who is finally getting around to writing those books she has always wanted to write. As a child, Amanda found safety, comfort and a gateway to imagination in the books she read, and the desire to create this for others. In an effort to help young readers see the magical pictures and colors she imagines, she decided to have a go at illustrating them herself. In the past, Amanda Jayne worked in the mental health field and in 2009, after gaining her masters in Spiritual Psychology, she became passionate about the importance of emotional and self-cultivation in the midst of a world filled with overwhelming mental stimulation. She has spent a good deal of her life living in or wandering around countries other than her native England. She loves trees, art, making up stories for kids, karaoke, cats and dark chocolate, not necessarily in that order. These days she teaches health and emotional wellness workshops and writes books. She lives in a quiet corner of Kent and tries, but usually fails, to stay there for long periods of time.
