Description

Cesspool is a tale told by a man franticly transcribing his life in an erratic manner before he takes the life of a prominent talk-show host & himself. Through a last minute journal written by the protagonist we explore his tragic life: the loss of his family, the loss of love, and the world of pornography he was raised in. Cesspool is a book that explores a shattered family; while also looking at American culture at the beginning of the 21st Century--a culture that is filled with talk-shows and over sexualization of a country. Cesspool is told in a way that will have the reader laughing at times and at others disgusted by what is printed on the page; between the strong sexual overtones and harsh language one may find a hidden philosophy between the lines. With quotations from and a strange correlation with Plato's Allegory Of The Cave, Cesspool is a novel about exploring truths in our selves all the while living within the darkness of the cave. Cesspool is a slice of modern Americana.
