The South East Asian country of Burma is home to more than 50 million people, with more than 100 ethnic groups. A rich Buddhist tradition permeates throughout the country. However, the Burmese people live under one of the harshest military dictatorships in the world. Any move towards democracy is viciously silenced and the populace is cowed into submission. The two documentaries featured on this release chart the history that has led to the current situation and delve deep into the organisation of the student rebellion.
