This game is incredibly realistic which sets it apart from the rest of the pack. Before this game, I never really feared the Germans in any other WWII FPS (even Call of Duty); however, in this game, I have nothing but respect for Jerry. Also, I never feared a tank before, but, yet again, the tanks in this game make you appreciate them and fear them at the same time. The only thing holding this game back is the cheesy dialogue all throughout the game. It tries to pull the emotional chords only to come off as slightly comedic for such a serious game. This is an easy thing to overlook compared to the rest of the game, however. Gameplay is solid, the weapons are accurately modelled, the situational awareness mode is a great asset that helps you plan your next move (even though it detaches a bit from the overall realism), and the AI is fantastic. There are many occasions of scripted events and scripted enemy movements, even though they often don't feel like it, that when you die (and you WILL die, OFTEN!) you know where to go to make your life easier. Finally, the sound is wonderful (especially on 5.1 or above), perhaps the most realistic to date. I strongly suggest cranking it up with headphones on or blasting it out loud when no one is home for a true WWII experience. It has its drawbacks, but it would be an insult to rate this game anything less that 5/5.

Set during the famous airdrop before the invasion at Normandy, Sgt. Matt Baker and his squad of 101st Airborne paratroopers were scattered over the French countryside. As the story unfolds, the player (Baker) must choose between the success of his mission and the lives of his men – his brothers in arms.
