"As good as the TV show"

Maybe I'm biased because I loved the TV show, but this lived up to all my expectations, and was just as brilliant. While there weren't really any new insights that I hadn't already inferred for myself, it still managed to surprise me just the same. My one complaint would be that a lot of the foreshadowing about the killer was left out, and, if you hadn't already seen the show, the identity would come as a bit of a shock, and be slightly implausible, coming out, almost, of thin air
