The another collaboration of Steven Spielberg & Tom Hanks was going to be no less then brilliant & this film did not disappoint. A historical drama set during the cold war about a prisoner exchange between the USA & USSR. Highly recommended!

Tom Hanks was ideal casting for lawyer Donovan, but so was Mark Rylance as soviet spy Rudolf Abel in this suspense filled recounting of a cold war episode from a few decades ago that those of us old enough to remember can relate to. The complexities and unease of the spy-swapping deals involving USA, East Germany and USSR were well fleshed out to make the end result unsure until the last minutes. I myself well remember the occasion of US pilot Gary Powers being shot down in his U2 surveillance plane but the film fills in the details well.

Great movie, plenty of action, great acting,very interesting story

A very good film with great acting from all characters in this movie. Definitly interesting to watch if your into the history of the Cold War, conspiracies or spys, well written with not much at all any violence which is different from most movies from this type of genre but worth every minute watched. Interesting and a great film.

This is a story of courage and truth in a system that could explode at any time into world wide chaos, a film that keeps you totally engrossed, not a minute is wasted

Bridge of Spies depicts the “Gary Powers” U2 spy plane incident and shows the volatile relationship between east and west during the Cold War. It is difficult to recall actors other than Tom Hanks in his movies and really the only exception here is the captured Russian spy who displays pragmatic acceptance of his situation, excellent acting. A riveting movie

This was a spy story with a difference. It really happened in my lifetime. Story was very well told. What else could you expect from the Cohen brothers and Steven Spielberg- not to mention Tom Hanks. I would heartily recommend it to any fans of good spy stories.
