The ability to monitor analytes within physiological, environmental, and industrial scenarios is of prime importance in many scenarios. The covalent coupling interaction between boronic acids and saccharides has been exploited to monitor saccharides. Frank Marken is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Bath, UK. His research interests lie in both the fundamental and applied aspects of electrochemistry.
