Description

Vital information on one of the most popular and affordable ranges of performance cars BMW's 3-Series is arguably the most widely admired and sought after range of high-performance saloons on the market, and the first two generations of them - the subject of this reissued volume in MRP's Collector's Guide series - are now available at such attractive prices that the market for them has grown wider than ever. Anyone contemplating the purchase of one of these desirable cars - and who requires comprehensive and accurate information on the many different models and specifications which have been produced over a period of eight years - need look no further than this volume, which is written by an author who is renowned in his profession as a BMW specialist. All models, from the economical 315 and 316 through to the motorsport-developed M3 Evolution, and all variants of bodywork - two-door and four-door saloons/sedans, five-door touring estates and two-door cabriolets - are detailed in a highly illustrated text which covers design, development, specification changes and, where applicable, competition history. An additional chapter offers valuable guidance to potential purchasers. As with all Collector's Guides, comprehensive appendices at the back of the book are devoted to model-by-model technical information, production and sales totals and performance figures, making this an exceptionally comprehensive reference book as well as a most entertaining read at a bargain price.
