There are strange goings-on at the Turtleduck Toy Factory! Theodore Cubb lives at the very top of the toy factory, beside the workshop where the toys are designed. He was lonely and had always wanted a pet, but his father said no. Then, on the night of the blue moon, a strange thing happens—the toy-making machine starts up of its own accord, resulting in a strange creature Theodore calls Bird. Bird leads him on an exciting adventure and to a fortunate meeting with a new friend.
