Description

Once in a while a family history book comes along that deserves special attention. Such a book is one in which Gayle Kamp and Deanna Oklepek, have after fifteen years of research and compilation. It is a comprehensive Beltzhoover family history from 1713 in Germany to 1752 in Philadelphia and through eleven generations. Members of this prominent family were tavern/hotel owners, bankers, river-boat builders, river-boat Captains and owners, of metal furnace companies. This family is traced from Philadelphia, PA., to Baltimore and Hagerstown, MD., to York, Carlisle, Pittsburgh, Beltzhoover, and Castle Shannon, PA., Natchez, MS., and points west. One Beltzhoover, Col. Daniel Beltzhoover, graduated from West Point and served in the Civil War as a Confederate. Though considerable is contained herein of his life and career, a book, in and of itself, could be made. To cap this historical and family migration, there is a 5,000 name index that is cross-referenced with maiden names. There are ample references and sources quoted. "Beltzhoover," is a book that satisfies every genealogical need and is an excellent reference guide as to how such a book can be presented.Whether you are a descendant of Beltzhoover or not, this is a very interesting book. "Beltzhoover," is now available through AuthorHouse.
