BeamBreakers takes place in a future New York City where all traffic is confined to defined lanes between the skyscrapers of New York. The guide beams prevent uncontrolled lane changes forcing a drone like movement throughout the city. The player is member of a gang, which drives illegal races against members of other gangs while avoiding capture by police. Illegal passing by changing lanes and daredevil stunts against a tremendous volume of traffic create excitement and tension. The player will zip past well known New York landmarks and will be introduced to fascinating new structures: a giant vertical traffic circle or enormous roller coasters located in the Central Park.
