"Not my will, but your will be done" may be a recognized verse from Luke 22:42, but it is also a calling to every Christian to daily choose God's will over their own. Submitting to God's will is a challenge for every person, as human free will can prevent people from following Jesus, and instead embrace their sin natures and the world's systems. As author William Femi Awodele describes in his new book, Battlefield of the Will, people are in the midst of a battle of wills between Satan's kingdom of darkness and God's kingdom of light. William depicts the human soul as a mixture of mind, will and emotion, which Satan can enter into and cause doubt towards God's love and power. By renewing one's mind in Jesus through salvation and being led by the Holy Spirit, not emotion, Satan can be hindered and God's loving will can prevail.
