I bought this game because I was familiar with the Battlefield franchise.
Thinking it would be just like Battlefield 2. But I was wrong. This game did
not give the ordinary Battlefield gameplay, instead it gave us something new.
Something different. Something really enjoyable.
The single player of Bad Company is not a great selling point of this game.
To be honest, it falls flat on its face. You will have the odd chuckle at the
your squads antics. But most of the dialogue just isn't funny. The AI lacks what
its title says it should have. Intelligence. It doesn't take cover, it can't
aim. And it doesn't try to act like an actualy military unit. You can easily
walk right past them, right to the rally point without dying.
The hardest mode is not very challenging and should only be completed if you
want a better GamerScore. The campiagn itself lasts around 5 to 6 hours. But
can take up to 9 or 10 if you look for the gold and weapons hidden throughout
the missions.
But thats not the reason you buy a Battlefield game. The franchise is not
known for its single player. Its always been about the multi-player. And boy
does Bad Company excel in that aspect.
With 2 modes to play in, the progressive, close quarter Gold Rush, where the
teams play to either retain their gold, or steal it. And the classic Conquest.
A total of 8 maps for Gold Rush and 9 for Conquest. Combined with the
Frostbite engine, which now allows destruction the possiblitys of gameplay is
multiplied many times. No 2 battles will be the same.
It gives you 5 different kits to play as, the short range and anti vehicle
Demolition. The sneaky Specialist who relys on sneak attacks and ambushes. The
medium range Assault who is a jack of all trades. The Support, who heals players
and repairs tanks. And the long range Recon, who snipes anyone unlucky enough to
fall in his crosshairs.
The vehicles are still present in Bad Company and they are even more fun to
use. There is the fast but weak tansport vehicles such as the HumVee and Voknik.
The armored transport such as the Bradley. Heavy tanks like the M1A2 Abrams and
T90. Helicopters such as the Hind, Apache, Mil Mi-28 and the famous
KA-52. Aswell as a golf cart. There are many ways to play.
Battlefield Bad Company is worth every cent and more. The multiplayer is
enjoyable enough for some people to clock up over 100 days spent in game! And
if you like Battlefield 1943, then Bad Company is the perfect game for you.
