After having played years of online strategic and tactical games. I bought this on a recomendation of a great review online promising, advanced online gameplay, great graphics and a slick tactical interface backed up with great multiplayer systems.
The intro was definitely slick and installation smooth with the DVD copy, the gamesetup is pretty much all MP no real depth for singleplayer, so make sure your connections sits sweetly for those foreign servers.
No kit selection in terms of weapon set ups. Little way in deteremining your squad when going blindly onto servers – these are prebooked or served up to clan spots, so you can find yourself running around with an AK shouting “jihad” if your not carefull! Online play is only as good as the guys you find, if you're a solo player casually turning up, don't expect an overly enjoyable time as there are hoards of run and gunners mixed with full time unemployed types who live and breath for there virtual world. Little mercy is given. Most servers are full and based abroad so connection speed is everything!
The graphics were okay, but I have seen better in other squad based and recent titles. The HUD was nice and the gameplay was fun, but I saw little in the way of any kind of tactical planning, once the games begin its run for your life and cover your a@@!
Not bad, but nothing groundbreaking, too much emphasis for MP not really a patient SP to online type of game. If you find a good bunch of mates or have a clan that likes this type of stuff then I can see this being a great deal of fun.
